2000 Global Researcher Conference
March 10 - 12, 2000
The Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines (formerly the Sheraton Grande Torrey Pines) is situated alongside the Pacific Ocean palisades with a breathtaking view of the spectacular southern California coast. Amid this unusual setting, guests enjoy comfortable rooms with balconies, a work desk, telephones and excellent conference facilities. The hotel also has access to lighted tennis courts, heated pool and spa, nature walks and is in close proximity to the Torrey Pines Golf Course. For sightseeing, the area offers such other attractions as the Mount Palomar Observatory, San Diego Zoo, Stephen Birch Aquarium and much more.
During Saturday evening, researchers were transported back in time to historic Old Town of San Diego which was established as the site for the first California Mission in 1769 by Junipero Serra. In this unique area, guests dined at the restaurant Casa Guadajara and were entertained by live mariachi music. Later, guests had time to explore the neighborhood where restored adobe houses, stone wells and stables still stand.
