The first Regional NDI Conference was held in Amsterdam at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky on the Dam in the center of Amsterdam. Founded in 1866, the Hotel's rich history and well-established Dutch tradition made the stay at this five-star hotel and conference center a memorable and productive one. From the modern and excellent conference facilities to meals taken in the beautiful Garden Room, attendees found their time in Amsterdam to be notable for its comfort and convenience.

After a long day of scientific presentations, researchers from Europe, as well as special guests from the United States and Canada, enjoyed a canal boat dinner cruise, where they were able to visit with associates from other countries as they dined and toured the picturesque canals of Amsterdam.
