The professional practice consisting of examination of the eyes to evaluate health and visual abilities, diagnosis of eye diseases and conditions of the eye and visual system, and provision of treatment by such means as the prescription of eyeglasses and contact lenses and the use of vision therapy, low vision aids, drugs (in most states), and certain surgical procedures.
