tarsal coalition

The fibrous, cartilaginous, or bony fusion of two or more of the tarsal bones, often resulting in talipes planovalgus, although other deformities occur and some patients are asymptomatic; it may be congenital or acquired as a response to trauma, infection, or joint disease.
